SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco State women's soccer player
Laura Shea has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Division II District 8 Team.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All- America honorees will be announced in December.
An All-PacWest Honorable Mention forward in 2017 and Second Team selection as a defender in 2016, Shea is studying communicative disorders and has a 3.96 GPA. She led SF State with a team-high seven goals. The San Diego native also had two assists for a team-high 16 points. The captain's two game-winners were tied for fourth-most in CCAA action.
SF State's 2016-17 Arete Award winner capped her senior campaign by scoring the game-winner with three seconds remaining over No. 19 Sonoma State on Senior Day. For that performance, she was named Gator of the Week for week of Oct. 23-29.
The Gators posted a 10-5-3 overall mark, their third consecutive winning season, and finished 5-4-3 in CCAA play under third-year Head Coach
