Warren Jackson has been named to the 2016-17 Division 2 Collegiate Commissioners Association Men's Basketball All-West Region Second Team on Monday.
The six-foot guard from Detroit helped lead the No. 22-ranked Gators to a 25-win season, the most for the program in the modern era and the most since the 1939-40 season, and to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1993-94.
Jackson, who was named to the All-CCAA First Team, averaged 17.2 points – second-highest in the CCAA, 4.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game in all 28 games for the Gators. The Detroit native shot 50 percent from the field, 45.4 percent from deep, and 85.2 percent from the free throw line. Jackson ranks among the top five in the CCAA in field-goal and free throw percentage, free throws made and attempted, assists per game and total assists, and total points. A two-time CCAA Player of the Week selection, Jackson scored a career-high 35 points in the final regular-season game of the year, a win at Humboldt State.
