SAN RAMON, Calif. – San Francisco State junior Matthew Hernandez has been named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Baseball Pitcher of the Week, for the week of Apr. 24-30.

Hernandez joins teammate Andrew Najeeb-Brush, who earned CCAA pitching honors for the week of March 27 to April 2.

The right-hander from Fort Bragg, California needed just 98 pitches to secure a complete-game 4-0 shutout in game one of a three game series with Cal State Dominguez Hills. He limited the Toros to just three hits and punched out eight.

The Gators, who have won five straight and eight of their last ten, finish out the season with a three-game series at Cal Poly Pomona on Friday, April 28 and Saturday, April 29. Live stats will be available and updates will be posted on Twitter at @sfstatebaseball.
