PITTSBURG, Kansas – Day one of the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships is in the books, with No. 7 San Francisco State's
Destiny Mack-Talalemotu taking home All-American honors in weight throw.
Mack-Talalemotu tossed an 18.88 in her second throw to reach the top-nine and qualify for the finals. Her first throw in the final round was a 19.10, which was good enough for the sixth-place finish and the All-American accolade. Mack-Talalemotu becomes the second All-American in weight throw in program history behind Cinnamon Rackley, who earned the plaudit in 2001.
Atiya Harvey qualified for tomorrow's finals in the 200m, placing seventh in the preliminary round with a program-best 24.37.
Timarya Baynard notched a 25.19 in the event as well.
In the 400m, Baynard narrowly missed the cut to move on to the finals, recording a 56.33.
Bianca Bryant saw her first action today in the 800m, clocking in a 2:11.45, which is a program-best time.
