CHARLOTTE, N.C. – More program records were broken on Friday by the No. 9 San Francisco State track & field team as they completed day two of the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Devanique Brown kicked things off for the Gators in long jump. The junior recorded a 5.10m, which came on her second attempt and is just off her PR of 5.13m. In javelin, she tossed a 34.50m in her second throw to place fifth in the event.
The 800m was the seventh and final event of the Heptathlon, and she ran a 2:24.38 to secure the top-eight finish and the All-America award. She tallied a personal-best 4,974 points in the event, which is the second-most points in program history. The junior becomes the first All-American in the Heptathlon in program history.
Bianca Bryant made her NCAA debut in the 800m and made a statement with a program-record time of 2:06.79 to qualify for tomorrow's final. The mark eclipses her previous program record of 2:07.68 that she set while taking the gold at the CCAA Championships earlier this month.
Next came
Monisha Lewis, who placed third overall in the field in the 100m hurdles with a 13.49. The result is a program record, the fourth-fastest time in the nation, and sends her to Saturday's final at 4:15 p.m. ET.
