Biography
2011: Finished among the top four SF State runners in five of six meets ... Was the Gators’ No. 2 competitor at the SF State Invitational, completing the 8K course in 16th place at 25:56.1 to help the Purple and Gold capture its fourth straight team title (Oct. 7) ... Also notched a pair of top-10 performances at the 4.2-mile Notre Dame de Namur Invitational (6th - 22:02) and Sonoma State Invite (9th - 27:00) ... Established an 8K personal-fast time of 25:21.49 at the University of Washington’s Sundodger Invitational, where he finshed 14th (Sept. 17) ... Helped SF State to a second-place standing at the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships after turning in a 19th-place effort of 26:42.40 (Oct. 22) ... Wrapped up the season by participating in his first NCAA Division II West Regional meet, where he logged a 10K time of 33:55 to wind up in the 80th position (Nov. 5).
2010: Participated in five of SF State’s six scheduled races as as a sophomore ... Was the Gators’ No. 2 runner at the season-opening Stanislaus Invite where he finished in 11th place overall at 27:24 to help the Purple and Gold to the team title ... Established a new 8K personal best at the Santa Clara Invitational, clocking in at 25:59.9 ... Also ran at the CCAA Championships ... Earned a spot on the Gator Athletics honor roll for the spring semester.
2009: Competed in four of SF State’s six scheduled races during his freshman campaign ... Recorded two top-20 finishes at the 4.05-mile CSUMB Invitational (6th - 22:53) and 8K Mills College Invitational (16th - 29:09.6), helping the Gators to a pair of team titles ... Was SF State’s second finisher at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational, crossing the tape in 74th with an 8K season-fast time of 27:44.7 ... Also participated in the CCAA Championships ... Was named to the SF State Athletics honor roll following the fall semester and landed on the Dean’s List for the spring.
PRIOR TO SF STATE: Graduated in 2009 from Berean Christian High School in Walnut Creek, Calif. ... Was voted his school’s Athlete of the Year as a senior ... Earned first-team all-conference accolades in 2007 and 2008 and was a second-team choice in 2005 and 2006 ... Also played guard on the Eagles basketball team ... Was named the squad’s best defensive player and most inspirational.
