Kaitlyn Maddux helped the Gators to a 4-1 start, the program's best start since 2013, with a pair of complete-game victories over Hawai'i Pacific and Northwest Nazarene. She scattered three hits in each game and posted a 1.0 ERA with 16 strikeouts and a .125 opponent batting average.
