Pat Haugen played a key role in the Gators taking three out of four games from the visiting Oregon Tech Hustlin’ Owls this weekend. Haugen came in relief and held the Owls scoreless in the top of the 12th inning while striking out three batters in the Gators’ 6-5 extra-inning victory on Saturday. Then on Sunday, he pitched a complete game seven-hit shutout while striking out 10 and walking three batters in the Gators’ 11-0 shutout over Oregon Tech. So far this season, Haugen has struck out 25 batters and walked just four in 15.2 innings of work. The senior pitcher also has appeared in four games and given up no runs and nine hits.
