Middle hitter Halimah Oswald put together a pair of solid performances in the Gators’ two matches at UC San Diego and Cal State East Bay, hitting .370 for the weekend on 22 kills in 46 attempts with just five errors. The SF State junior also scooped up 10 digs and came up with four total blocks, including a pair of solo stops and one setting assist. Against UCSD on Friday, Oswald posted a .333 hitting percentage on 10 kills in 21 swings with three errors to go along with six digs, two block assists and one solo block. She then continued her efficiency on Saturday against No. 23 CSUEB, hitting .400 for the match on 12 kills in 25 tries with just two errors while adding four digs one solo block and a setting assist. With her effort, Oswald has now reached the double-digit kill plateau in five straight matches, hitting at a .281 clip during that span. For the season, she leads the Gator regulars with a .269 hitting percentage and ranks second on the squad with 42 total blocks and 23 service aces.
