Drew Andersen played a key role in the Gators’ sweeping this past weekend’s three-game series with NAIA’s No. 15 Fresno Pacific. The senior shortstop started the weekend going 2-for-2 with a RBI on a suicide squeeze in the Gators’ 5-1 home opener victory. He also had a walk while having three assists in the field. Then in game one of Saturday’s doubleheader, Andersen drove in the game-winning runs with a two-out two-run single in the bottom of the fourth inning to give the Gators the 2-1 come-from-behind victory. In the field, the Gilroy native had a putout and an assist.
