SF State senior pitcher Ashley Jackson played a major role in the Gators’ 2-2 weekend including a sweeping a doubleheader from first place Chico State in Chico this weekend. She started off the weekend pitching a complete four-hit game in the Gators’ 1-0 loss. Jackson struck out five in the series opener on Friday. Then in the nightcap, the senior pitcher came on in relief, pitching 3.2 innings, giving up five hits and two runs while striking out four in SF State’s 2-1 loss. Then on Saturday, Jackson pitched a complete game shutout, giving up just two hits and striking out 6 in the Gators’ 2-0 win. In the series finale, Jackson pitched four innings of relief, striking out six and walking one while giving up two hits and one earned run. For the weekend, she posted a 1.35 earned run average while striking out 21 and walking just two.
