Opposite hitter Megan Johnson posted two double-doubles this past weekend, helping SF State earn a road split against Cal State East Bay and Cal State Monterey Bay. The Gator junior hit at a .296 clip, launching 36 kills (4.00/set) and to go along with 31 digs (3.44/set) in two matches. Johnson was also a force from behind the service line, recording eight aces (0.889/set) to climb into eighth place in this week’s CCAA statistical report in that category. Against Cal State East Bay on Friday, the Riverside native finished with career highs of 24 kills and five aces – both SF State season bests so far this year – to go along with 11 digs. The following night at CSUMB, Johnson hit .333, collecting an additional 12 kills and 20 digs to rack up her fourth double-double in her last six matches and seventh overall in 2011.
