Isaiah Jimenez captured the regional title in the 165-pound weight class as he went 4-0 including defeating Colorado Mesa’s Chester Grandard by a 3-2 decision in the championship match.  Jimenez, who was the fifth seed at the regionals, started off the regionals with a 6-3 decision of Jed Ferguson of Colorado State-Pueblo.
 
He then won by a 5-2 decision over Adam State’s fourth-seeded Justin Samora in the second round.  The Gator junior won by a 4-3 double overtime decision over top-seeded Joey Wilson of Nebraska-Kearney in the semifinals. 

Jimenez qualified for the nationals for the second year in a row and this was the fourth straight year that the Gators had a regional champion
