Keenya McDaniel turned in a series of magnificent performances on Saturday at the CCAA Championships, capturing two individual titles in the 100-meter dash and triple jump and running the opening leg of SF State's winning 4x100 relay team. The Gator sophomore also added a second-place effort in the 200 meters to earn her fourth All-CCAA award on the weekend. McDaniel began her extraordinary day by joining forces with Carrie Thomas, Alicia Chambers and Brionne Baucham on the Gators’ championship 4x100 relay that established a new school standard with a winning time of 46.21 seconds. She then secured the triple jump crown with a leap of 40 feet, 4 ¾ inches, before grabbing the top spot in the 100 with an 11.84 clocking, which eclipsed her own SF State standard set in the preliminaries on Friday. In her final race of the afternoon, McDaniel came up just short of a third title with a runner-up time of 24.03 in the 200, shattering Rashaida Coleman’s school record of 24.12 set in 2004.
The Selma, Calif., native currently ranks third nationally in the triple jump, seventh in the 200 and 11th in the 100, while her 4x100 relay is ninth.
