Alex Thomas played a key role in the Gators improving to 5-0, their first ever 5-0 start in SF State men's basketball history.  He started the weekend by hitting what proved to be the game-winner in SF State's 71-67 win over Concordia-St. Paul in the first game of the Otter Classic in Seaside on Friday.  Thomas drove the lane and hit a jumper with 11 seconds to go and the shot clock winding down.  He finished the game with a team high 15 points, two assists, and two steals while going 6 of 13 from the field, 1 of 4 from three's, and two of two from the charity stripe.  He also grabbed five defensive rebounds. 

Then in Saturday's 70-65 win over West Region power, Seattle Pacific, Thomas scored a season high 22 points to lead the way for the Gators. he was 6 of 12 from the field, 1 of 2 from three's, and 9 of 10 from the charity stripe.

For the weekend, he averaged 18.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per game in SF State's 2-0 weekend.  He shot 48% from the field, 92% from the line, and 29% from three's.  Thomas also moved on the Gators' career list in assists (189-7th) and 84 three's made (6th).  He also has scored 761 points in his career.
