Senior Megan Johnson played a key role in the Gators’ first-ever 2-0 start in CCAA play, hitting .313 on 20 kills (3.33/set) to go along with 21 digs (3.50/set), two block assists and an ace. Against Cal State East Bay on Friday, the SF State opposite hitter notched her 11th career double-double and third of the season, finishing with 11 kills (3.67/set), 12 digs (4.00/set) and an ace to help SF State earn a 3-0 victory over the Pioneers. The following evening against Cal State Monterey Bay, Johnson hit at a season-high .389 cip, knocking down nine kills (3.00/set) on 18 attempts with just two errors, while adding nine digs (3.00/set) and two block assists as the Gators rolled to their third straight sweep and fifth of the year.
