Bruk Assefa was the Gators’ top runner last Saturday at the highly competitive Charles Bowles Invitational in Salem, Ore., where he placed fifth overall with an 8K personal-best time of 25:05.41, which ranks third in school history.  Assefa’s effort was also the fastest performance by a Division II participant among 170 entries as he helped SF State to a third-place standing in a field of 19 schools. The Gators, ranked 28th in the latest DII national poll, finished with 129 points, trailing only Division I Portland and Boise State at the end of the race.
