Sophomore Kelly Ostello played a key role in the Gators' 2-1 week, blasting 51 kills (4.25/set) to go along with eight digs, two block assists and a service ace. Against 22nd-ranked Sonoma State, Ostello recorded her second-highest kill production of the year with 22 put-aways, while committing just four errors in 62 attempts (.290) as SF State snapped a five-match losing streak to the Seawolves. After an 11-kill effort against Cal State San Bernardino on Friday, Ostello hit .364 the next night against another league heavyweight in UC San Diego, finishing with a match-high 18 kills (6.00/set), while committing just two miscues in 44 swings. The Gator outside hitter also added four digs and a block assist to help SF State sweep the Tritons, who were receiving votes in the latest AVCA Division II poll. With her performances, Ostello has posted double-digit kill totals in 12 of 16 matches this season and now ranks third in the conference with 3.74 kills per set.
