Bruk Assefa was the first to cross the finish line for the Gators with a 45^th place time of 30:36.6 at the 2012 NCAA Division II National Men's Cross Country Championships. Assefa shattered his personal best of 32:23, putting him second on the Gators all time record in the 10K run. He also led the Gators to a 22nd finish in their first appearance in the championships.
