Naveed Bagheri ended his collegiate career in the Purple and Gold by becoming a National Champion in the 141 weight class this past weekend at the 2013 NCAA Division II National Wrestling Championships.  Bagheri started his weekend with a 6-1 decision over Kutztown's Evan Yenolevich in the First Round on Friday morning.  He finished day one with a 6-0 decision over Indianapolis' Justin Kieffer to advance to the semi's on Saturday.

in his semi-final round match, Bagheri won by a 14-10 decision over St. Cloud State's Matt Nelson.  Bagheri then became a National Champion by winning by a 5-2decision in overtime over Adams State's Matt Nelson. The senior wrestler helped the Gators to a ninth place team finish as his teammate Isaiah Jimenez also claimed All-American honors by finishing in 5th place.
