Joaquin Carlos went 2-0 on the week, notching a key win in SF State’s dual-meet triumph over Menlo College on Feb. 12. Carlos provided three crucial points with a 6-1 decision over the Oaks’ Lee Morrison at 149 as the Gators pulled out a hard-fought 16-15 victory in their home finale of the 2008-09 season. Then he posted his first win of the year by fall with a second-period pin (3:58) of Anthony Box at Division I Cal State Bakersfield on Feb. 15. With his effort, Carlos has now won five straight, improving to 7-4 on the year.
