Robin Bowman was the recipient of this year's Arete Award recipient. This award is for a student-athlete that have distinguished themselves in the classroom and in their sport. This recipient is the Most Outstanding Student-Athlete of the Year.

Robin Bowman was a member of the women’s soccer team and played a key role in the Gators receiving a bid to the 2008 NCAA Division II National Soccer Championship for the first time since 2002. The Criminal Justice major was named to the Verizon Academic All-District Team.  She also was named to the All-CCAA First Team this season while playing in all 22 games.  The senior midfielder scored a team high nine goals of which five were game-winners. She also had two assists while recording 20 points, which led the Gators this past season.
