SF State Gators men’s basketball player Alex Thomas was presented with the

Male Athlete of the Year Award. Thomas was a three-year letter-winner for the Gators. He finished his career at SF State ranked in the top 10 in six statistical categories: points (1,055-8^th), three-point field goals made (121-4^th), three-point field goal percentage (37.3%-tied 5^th), steals (100-9^th), three-point field goal attempted (325-4^th), and field goals attempted (815-6^th). Thomas also was named to the 2008 Ron Logsdon All-Tournament as well as being named the Wilson/CCAA Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. 

For the second year in a row, the Vallejo native was named to the All-CCAA Second Team. This season he finished second on team with his 13.4 scoring average while leading the team with his 2.7 assists per game average. He also averaged 1.3 steals and 2.9 rebounds per game while shooting 42% from the field, 35.5% from three’s, and 75.2% from the charity stripe.
