Vu helped the Gators to an upset of No. 9 California Baptist. SF State trailed 20-16 headed into the final bout and needed a major decision for the tie and win by criteria, and Vu delivered with 13-4 major decision. At the Clackamas Open, Vu went 4-0 with a tech fall and a pair of major decisions to take first place in his weight class.
