Luisa Musika was presented with the SF State Female Freshman Athlete of the Year. Musika is a thrower on the Gators’ women’s track and field team. The Milpitas native recorded three top 10 marks in three events in SF State women’s track and field history in just her first season. She is currently second in the discus (148-11), second in the shot put (44-0.75), and eighth in the hammer (142-07). Her mark of 148-11 in the discus places her 12^th in the nation and her throw of 44-0.75 in the discus is 18^th. At last weekend’s CCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, she was the CCAA Champion in the shot put and finished 6^th in the discus and 11^th in the hammer.
