Halimah Oswald played an integral part in the Gators’ 3-1 finish at the Seawolf Spike Tournament, Aug. 28-29, at Sonoma State. The sophomore middle hitter led all players with a stellar .500 hitting percentage on the weekend, knocking down 51 kills on 86 attempts with just eight errors.  Oswald established several career highs during the tournament, including a .600 hitting performance against Notre Dame de Namur on Saturday, posting 13 kills on 20 attempts with only one error. Later in the afternoon, she also registered personal-bests with 14 kills and 27 attack attempts, helping the Gators defeat Western Oregon, which was ranked No. 24 in the preseason national coaches poll.
