Jacob Niles finished third in a time of 26:07.1 in the 8K race at the Pacific Collegiate Invitational.

The senior from Aptos led the Gators to a team victory at the event, hosted by the University of the Pacific at Micke Grove Golf Links in Lodi. The 5:30 p.m. race started under tough conditions in 88-degree heat.

SF State finished tied for first in the standings with St. Mary’s with 44 points. However, the Gators won the tiebreaker with better head-to-head results from the top five runners.
