Jimmy Meuel joined the San Francisco State baseball coaching staff in August 2021. Meuel brings with him over 10 years of coaching experience and has coached at all three levels of NCAA.
Meuel has held various roles with college baseball programs up and down the West Coast, including at Division I programs San José State, UC Davis, and University of San Francisco. He was UC Davis’ first-ever director of baseball operations. His first coaching job came in 2008 as the pitching and recruiting coordinator at Menlo. In his three years with the Oaks, Menlo set school records in wins and shutouts, ERA, and walks. Meuel also served as pitching coach and recruiting coordinator for one season at Lewis & Clark and two seasons at Academy of Art.
Most recently, Meuel has served as a head coach and the assistant program director for Headfirst Baseball Academy. There, he co-leads program management for the largest baseball academy in California with over 500 players between the ages of eight and 18. He also developed the academy's college advising program.
Meuel earned his BA in History from Willamette, where he was also a three-year letter winner. At the time, he set the school's Division III record for pitching appearances with 18 in a season.
Meuel and his wife, Annette, reside in Oakland with their sons, Henry and August.
