Arcata, Calif.--- The visiting SF State Gators' (6-8-2, 4-5-2 CCAA) and the Humboldt State University Lumberjacks' women's soccer team played to a scoreless double overtime tie in a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) game at a rain soaked HSU Soccer Field this afternoon in Arcata, Calif.
For the second straight game, the Gators out shot their opponents 15-12 over Humboldt State but could not score. SF State out shot the Lumberjacks (3-12-1, 1-10-1 CCAA) 13-6 in regulation and also had 9 corner kicks to Humboldt State's one.
Emily Hart (Fr, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA/Tesoro HS) recorded five saves in goal en route to her fourth shutout this season for SF State. Michela Hernandez had nine saves in goal for Humboldt State. With the tie, the season series between the two teams finishes at 0-1-1 with SF State defeating the Lumberjacks 4-3 in overtime earlier this season in San Francisco.
The Lumberjacks had a chance to win the game in the final seconds of regulation, but
Hart saved Katie Forba's shot. SF State's
Lauren Candia (Jr, D, Novato, CA/University of San Francisco) recorded the Gators' only shot on goal in overtime in the final minutes of the second overtime period, but Hernandez recorded her ninth save.
SF State continues its four-game road trip this Sunday at 12:30pm in Rohnert Park, California, for a CCAA match with Sonoma State University. The Gators lost 2-0 to the Seawolves earlier this season in San Francisco.
