San Francisco, Calif.---- SF State women's soccer team improved to 8-4-2 overall and 6-2-1 in the CCAA with a 4-0 win over the visiting CSU Monterey Bay Otters this afternoon at SF State's Cox Stadium. With the win, SF State improves to 6-0-2 at home.

Zoila Marquez (Salinas, California, North Salinas) scored her first of two goals to give the Gators a 1-0 lead off a ball from
Courtney Hamchuk (Laguna Beach, California, Laguna Beach)in the 19
th minute. Then nine minutes later,
Robin Bowman (San Francisco, California, Cal State Bakersfield)increase the Gators' advantage to 2-0 off a ball from
Kara Cunningham (Rohnert Park, California, Rancho Cotate). SF State took a 3-0 lead into the half on a goal by
Kelsey Carapia (Los Angeles, California, Bel-Jeff) from an assist from
Sara Ordaz (Lodi, California, Tokay) and
Shanna Vachal (San Diego, California, Westview) in the 43
rd minute.
Marquez scored her second goal and SF State's final tally of the match in the 56
th minute off a ball from
Sarah Whelan. The Gators outshot the Otters 10-4 including 7-3 in the first half, while
Emily Hart had three saves in goal for SF State and
Rachel Lauderdale played in goal the final 21 minutes to preserve the eighth shutout of the season for the Gators.
SF State will continue its three-game home stand this Friday with a non-conference game at 3pm against CSU San Marcos.
