Box Score SAN FRANCISCO--- For the sixth time this season, the SF State Gators recorded a shutout in their 3-0 victory over the visiting Humboldt State Lumberjacks.
Nicole Vanni scored two of the Gators' three goals as SF State improved to 5-1-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the CCAA.
“This was a full team effort this afternoon,” said SF State Head Coach
Jack Hyde. “Everyone contributed this afternoon as we dedicated this game to
Michelle Kay, who has been out with an injury.”
SF State took an early 1-0 lead as
Nicole Vanni connected on a cross from
Chloe Harrington. Carly Kolpin went to tie the game at 1-1, but her shot on goal attempt was stopped by the Gators'
Annicia Jones.
The game remained 1-0 SF State until the 64
th minute of the second half, when
Justine Hernandez scored her second goal of the season off a ball from
Tamerra Griffin and
Chloe Harrington.
The Gators sealed the win when Vanni scored her 6
th goal of the season off a cross from
Kiley Williams in the 76
th minute.
Humboldt State's (1-3-2, 0-3-2 CCAA) Jennie Paugh recorded four saves in goal for the Lumberjacks.
SF State outshot the Lumberjacks 10-8 while
Annicia Jones had two saves in goal for the Gators and
Allison Land had one save.
The Gators will return home this Sunday at 2pm, when they host Sonoma State.
