SAN FRANCISCO - The visiting Cal Poly Pomona women's soccer team scored two first-half goals and made them stand up in a 2-0 victory over San Francisco State in a California Collegiate Athletic Association match Sunday at Cox Stadium.
With the victory, the Broncos raise their record to 9-4-2 overall and 7-4-2 in league play, while the Gators slip to 6-8-1 and 4-8-1 in the CCAA.
Angela Garcia opened the scoring in the sixth minute, drilling a shot off a pass from Samantha Stiles, while Megan Kisslan connected on a header shortly thereafter at the 9:07 mark.
Sarah Rohman made four saves for CPP, while Annica Jones finished with three stops for the Purple and Gold.
SF State will return to the pitch this Friday, October 26th at 3pm, when the Gators host Cal State L.A. in another CCAA match-up at Cox Stadium.
