SAN FRANCISCO– No. 8 Cal Poly Pomona's Alexander Turkson connected on a ball from Armando Ochoa for the golden goal in the 104th minute as the Broncos defeated the SF State Gators 1-0 in double overtime at SF State's Cox Stadium.  This was the Gators' first loss in seven games at home while the Broncos improve to 13-0-1 overall and 7-0 in the CCAA.

The first half saw the hosts control as they had 9 shot attempts to the Broncos' 7 and also held a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks.

The Gators had four chances in the first 14 minutes of the match to take the lead but the shots either went the following: wide, were blocked or were stopped by Fernando Quevedo.  The first one came in the third minute off the foot of Emmanuel Serrano, followed by Jakob Velega's attempt in the sixth minute, Gerry Cruz's in the eight, Kevin Johnson's in the 13th minute and Sam Merritt's in the 14th

It looked like the Gators were going to take the lead in the 19th minute, but Quevedo stopped Nick Harb's attempt and then three seconds later Harb's second attempt sailed high.

Cal Poly Pomona's had a great chance for a goal be stopped by Daniel Boyer in the 44th minute as the match went scoreless into the half.
In the second half, the Broncos had their only shot on goal attempt come off the foot of Daniel Garcia, Jr., but Boyer made one of his four saves on the day.

SF State's only on goal attempt came in the 86th minute as it looked like Kevin Johnson was going to give the Gators the lead but Quevedo came up big again with one of his five saves in the match.

The first overtime period, just saw two shot attempts both by the visitors.  The first one in the 92nd minute as Ochoa's attempt sailed high.  Then with less than three minutes left, Jesus Tamayo's attempt went wide right.
