SAN FRANCISCO –The SF State Gators' women's soccer team will begin a season long four-match road trip this Friday, October 3 at 3pm in Seaside, Calif., for a CCAA match-up with Cal State Monterey Bay.
The Gators went 0-2 in their opening weekend of CCAA playing losing 1-0 to then No. 3 Cal State Stanislaus on Friday and then on Sunday dropping a 2-1 heartbreaker in overtime to Cal State East Bay.
SF State has scored 11 goals and recorded 12 assists heading into their season long road trip this weekend.
Elizet Ceja leads the way with her four goals and 10 points. She also has two assists. Of her four goals, two are game-winning goals.
Autumn Fox is right behind her with three goals, two assists and 8 points.
Kelsey Wetzstein has a team leading five assists.
The Gator defense is allowing 0.85 goals a game with
Allison Land seeing all of the time in goal this season. She has recorded 23 saves with two shutouts.
Ceja is currently in the top ten in the CCAA in three statistical categories as she is tied for third in game-winning goals, tied for seventh in goals scored and tied for ninth in points. Wetzstein is tied for first with her five assists this season while Land is sixth with 23 saves.
Heading into this weekend, Cal State Monterey Bay is 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the CCAA while Humboldt State is 6-2 overall and 1-1 in the CCAA.
