SAN FRANCISCO– The Tracy Hamm era in SF State Gator women's soccer will begin this Saturday, September 5 at noon in Ellensburg, Washington, as the Gators take on Central Washington in a non-conference match.  SF State will then travel to Nampa, Idaho, on Monday, September 7 1:30pm, when the Gators take on Northwest Nazarene also in a non-conference match.

SF State returns 14 letter winners from last year's team including All-CCAA performer Laura Shea and leading returning scorer Autumn Fox.  Shea played in 17 matches last season and assisted on one goal while playing a key role in the Gators allowing 0.95 goals a game and posting six shutouts.  Fox scored four goals including two game-winners while assisting on two in the 18 matches she played in last season for the Gators.  Coach Hamm brings in 18 newcomers this year, which she is looking to blend in with the returners for a successful season.

The Gators will travel to Ellensburg, Washington, this Saturday for a noon starting match with Central Washington.  The Wildcats went 8-8-3 overall last season including going 7-4-3 in the GNAC. They return junior midfielder Keilin Farrand, who scored three goals and had two assists for the Wildcats last season.  Central Washington allowed just 1.11 goals a game last season with 7 shutouts.  Sydney Williams returns for the Wildcats for her senior season in goal.

SF State will then travel to Nampa, Idaho, on Labor Day for a 1:30pm starting match with Northwest Nazarene, who finished 2014 with a 4-11-3 record.  The Crusaders allowed 1.84 goals a game last season with Daniele Ortiz seeing all the time in goal.  She is back for her sophomore season in Idaho.  Ortiz posted three shutouts last season with 117 saves.  Also back for Northwest Nazarene are the Crusaders' top two scorers in Lexi Fresenbeck and Nicole Nsa.  Fresenbek scored four goals last season and assisted on 12 of the Wildcats' 22 goals last year.  Nsa scored a team high five goals and added an assist for Central Washington.

After this weekend, the Gators will have their first two home matches of the season on September 10 and 12.  On Thursday the 10, SF State will host Montana State-Billings at 4:30pm at Cox Stadium.  Then two days later, SF State will face Concordia (Ore.) also in a non-conference match at noon on Sept. 12.
