SAN FRANCISCO—San Francisco State will embark on a three-match road trip beginning this weekend with a pair of conference matches.  The Gators will travel to Arcata for a 12:30pm starting match with Humboldt State this Friday, October 14.  San Francisco State will then travel to Rohnert Park for an 11:30am starting match this Sunday, October 16 with Sonoma State.

The Gators are 6-4-3 overall and 3-3-2 in the CCAA after going 1-1 this past weekend in their two home matches.  San Francisco State lost to then No. 8 UC San Diego this past Friday 2-0.  Then on Sunday, the Gators snapped their three-matching losing streak in their 1-0 win over Cal State San Marcos.  San Francisco State sits in the 7th spot In the CCAA standings, one point out of 6th and two points out of 5th.  The top six teams at the end of the regular season on October 30 will receive a bid to the CCAA Soccer Championships which run Nov. 1, 4-6. 

There are just three weeks left in the regular season as the Gators will have three away matches and two home matches.  They will be on the road for their next three straight matches and will finish off at home on October 27 and 29 against Cal State East Bay and Stanislaus State.

SAN FRANCISCO STATE:  The Gators are 6-4-3 overall and 3-3-2 in the CCAA.  They are 3-2-1 at home, 2-2-2 on the road and 1-0-0 in neutral site matches.  San Francisco State has scored 13 goals with 14 assists in its first 13 matches.  The Gators' defense has posted a 0.72 goals against average with 49 saves and 6 shutouts.

ASSISTING AWAY:  Senior forward Autumn Fox leads the team with her 6 assists.  She is currently third in the CCAA in assists.  Three of her assists have come on game-winners against Western State Colorado (Natasha Gosiaco), Holy Names (Natasha Gosiaco) and Cal State San Marcos (Jada Williams).

SIX SHUTOUTS:  The Gators posted their sixth shutout of the season in their 1-0 win over Cal State San Marcos on Sunday.  Of their six shutouts, five have been victories for the Gators and one ended in a scoreless tie at Cal Poly Pomona.

HOLDING HOLGUIN:  Christina Holguin has posted a 0.51 goals against average in 11 matches she has started in goal for the Gators.  She has 40 saves with 6 shutouts and a 6-3-2 record.  The junior goalkeeper is tied for third in the CCAA in shutouts, tied for fourth in saves and 9th in goals against average.

GAME-WINNERS;  Four different Gators have recorded a game-winning goal this season.  Sierra Sagasta and Natash Gosiaco each have two which ties them for third in the CCAA.  Jada Williams and Kelsey Wetzstein each have one game-winner. 

STREAK SNAPPED:  In their 1-0 win over Cal State San Marcos, the Gators snapped their three-match losing streak and five-match winless streak.  Before this streak, San Francisco State had a five-matach winning streak. 

RIGHT BACK IN THE HUNT:  With their 1-0 win over Cal State San Marcos on Sunday, the Gators are right back in the hunt for a berth in the CCAA Soccer Championships, Nov. 1, 4-6. San Francisco State sits in the seventh spot, one point of the sixth spot held by Cal State Dominguez Hills.  The Gators are two points out of fifth (Cal Poly Pomona0 and four points out of third and fourth (Sonoma State and Cal State L.A.).  The top six spots are currently held by UC San Diego, Cal State San Bernardino, Sonoma State, Cal State L.A., Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State Dominguez Hills. 

FOUR CCAA MATCHES LEFT:  The Gators have just four CCAA matches left this regular season beginning with Humboldt State and Sonoma State this weekend.  In two weeks, the Gators will finish off its regular season October 27 and 29 when they host Cal State East Bay and Stanislaus State in their final two matches. 

UPDATE ON HUMBOLDT STATE:  The Lumberjacks are 3-8-1 overall and 1-4-1 in the CCAA heading into this weekend.  They are allowing 1.57 goals a game while scoring 0.87 goals a game.  Bridget Daley leads the way with her four goals followed by Alex Jenkins with two goals.  Rose Harman has a team leading three assists.  Alex Dumas has posted a 1.57 goals against average with 55 saves and one shutout.

SONOMA STATE IN REVIEW:  The Seawolves are 7-2-1 and 5-1 in the CCAA heading into their match on Friday at home against Cal State Monterey Bay.  They have given up 5 goals while scoring 13 in their first 10 matches this season.  Katie Mohr leads the way with her four goals and two assists for 10 points.  Miriam Bloom has recorded a team high four assists.  Allison Hadidian has posted a 0.77 goals against average with 16 saves and two shutouts in her 7 matches in goal.  Kristen Spear has seen action in goal in four matches while posting a 0.00 goals against average, 11 saves and three shutouts.

AFTER THIS WEEKEND:  The Gators will be off until October 24 when they travel to Santa Cruz for a 3:15pm non-conference match against UC Santa Cruz.
