Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

@SFState_MSOC Finishes Season With 2-0 Win on Senior Day

SAN FRANCISCO--  With their 2-0 win over the visiting Stanislaus State Warriors on Senior Day this afternoon, the San Francisco State Gators recorded their first non-losing season in the CCAA since joining the conference in 1998.

The match was scoreless at Cox Stadium until the 24th minute when Aydan Bowers scored his first collegiate goal as he connected on a header off a free kick from Ashley Watson.  This proved to be the game-winner, which is also Bowers' first in a Gator uniform.

Francisco Saucedo doubled the Gator lead, 11 minutes later as he connected on a cross from Brandon Brunac for his third goal of the season.  This was Saucedo's third goal in his last two matches as he scored twice on Thursday in the Gators' 6-1 win over Cal State East Bay.

HISTORY:  With their 5-5-2 record in their 12-conference matches, San Francisco State recorded its first non-losing season in the CCAA since joining the conference in 1998.

MORE HISTORY: With their 9-6-2 overall record, the Gators recorded back to back to back winning seasons for the first time since 1978-80 when they went 11-4, 11-6 and 11-4-3.  Their nine wins ties them for eighth most in the program's history.

LUCKY SEVEN:  Francisco Saucedo registered 7 points this week in the Gators' 3-0 week.  He started the week with an assist in their 2-0 win at UC Santa Cruz on Monday afternoon.  Saucedo then scored two goals in the Gators' 6-1 win over Cal State East Bay on Thursday.  He finished with a goal in today's 2-0 win over Stanislaus State.

SENIOR DAY:  Prior to the match, the Gators recognized their four seniors in James Aguirre, Emmanuel Jimenez, Emmanuel Serrano and Ashley Watson.

6.5:  Emmanuel Jimenez posted his 6.5 shutout in goal for the Gators which combined with his 6.5 last season gives him 13 for his two-year career as a Gator.  He also had 63 saves this season and finished with an 8-5-2 record.
