SAN RAMON, Calif. — San Francisco State freshman Tami Kwong scored a trio of goals over the weekend en route to being named California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 25-Oct. 1.
Kwong scored three of the Gators' four goals and both game-winners in a 2-0 week for San Francisco State. The first-year collegian scored twice off the bench in Friday's 2-0 victory over Cal State East Bay, then notched the first goal of the day in Sunday's 2-0 win over Cal State Monterey Bay.
In the week's two contests, she compiled nine shots, six on goal, with three on target for San Francisco State to earn her first career CCAA Player of the Week honor.
SF State sets out on the road for its next four matches, all in Southern California, before returning home to Cox Stadium on Friday, Oct. 20. vs. Cal Poly Pomona. The first 250 students in attendance at that day's matches will receive a free SF State soccer scarf.
