SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco State women's soccer player
Christina Holguin has been named to the 2017 D2CCA Women's Soccer All-West Region Second Team.
The senior goalkeeper was a
CCAA First Team selection this season. Holguin's .922 save percentage and .412 goals against average both led the CCAA. Her save percentage is third in the nation in NCAA Division II and her goals against average is ninth best among all Division II goalkeepers. Her 4.73 saves per game was third best in the CCAA. The Alhambra, California native posted a career-high 15 saves in her final match as a Gator, a 1-0 victory over Sonoma State. She helped preserve the shutout with a save against a penalty kick in the 84th minute. Holguin made 15 starts in goal and posted six shutouts while allowing just six goals all season.
The Gators posted a 10-5-3 overall mark, their third consecutive winning season, and finished 5-4-3 in CCAA play under third-year Head Coach
Tracy Hamm.
