CHICO, Calif. — The San Francisco State baseball team dropped it series finale, 9-0, to Chico State on Sunday at Nettleton Stadium.
Chico State (15-4/8-0) went up 2-0 in the second inning, and added another run in the third. The Wildcats blew the game open with a five-run fifth inning and added one more in the sixth.
Andrew Najeeb-Brush (0-4) allowed three runs, two earned, in three innings of work.
Brett Elgin pitched a perfect fourth inning but
Matt Wheeler didn't record an out and surrendered four unearned runs.
Blake Borror and
Nathan Pisciotta each allowed a run over the next two innings.
Jacob Lopez and
Johnny Juarez accounted for the Gators' two hits. Steven Baker (3-0) tossed five shutout innings for the Wildcats. The Chico State bullpen combined for two shutout innings and did not allow a hit.
