SAN FRANCISCO - The No.6-ranked Alaska Anchorage Seawolves were too much for the San Francisco State women's basketball team on Sunday as the Gators fell 86-54.
- The Seawolves (2-0) shot 45 percent (27-of-60) from the field including 42.3 percent (11-of-26) from deep.
- Isabella Lamonea led the Gators (0-2) with ten points, seven of which came in the fourth quarter, and was 2-of-3 from three-point range.
- Taisia Fleming, Jhaina Stephens and Toni Edwards each added seven points, and Stephens earned All-Tournament Team honors while also leading SF State with eight rebounds. Fleming added four assists in the contest.

Fleming got the Gators on the board as she dropped a three from the top left corner which narrowed the deficit to 8-5, but the Seawolves countered with an other corner three to push their lead back up to six. Edwards stormed into the land and drew the and-one on the contested layup that cut it to three, 13-10, and Stephens converted two from the line following a foul that made it a one-point game with under 30 seconds left. Anchorage got a jumper from Hannah Wandersee that put the visitors back up by three to end the frame.

Alexander jumper to cut it to one, 15-14. Danielle Palmer got in the score column off a dish from Edwards to make it 22-17 midway through the second quarter, but the Seawolves utilized a 7-0 run including a 16-3 run over a 2:32 minute span to widen their lead to double digits. Fleming ended the run after dropping in a jumper from the top of the key that brought the score to 31-19. A couple minutes later Fleming passed to Madison Corder in the key who finished the contested layup and narrow the deficit to ten. Lamonea knocked down a three-pointer from the left corner with just over a minute to go that brought SF State closer at 35-26. However Anchorage got a clutch corner three of their own with four seconds left from Tara Thompson that pushed the visitor advantage to 40-28 at the half.Â

Anchorage began the second half with a 16-0 run that made it 56-28 before a Stephens free throw ended the streak. Taimane Lesa-Hardee and Edwards each made free throws and Megan Cistulli added a jumper in the closing minute as the Gators battled back. The visitors posted 28 points in that third quarter to take a 68-38 lead into the final ten minutes.
The Seawolves got another triple from Thompson to open the fourth. With 6:34 left, Alexander got the first points for SF State in the frame from the line as the Gators scored 40. Anchorage continued their lights out play from deep with two more three-pointers, bringing their total to 11, as they went up by 40. Lamonea answered with her own bucket from beyond the arc and Mackenzie Oribello dished from the corner and the freshman knocked it down. With just over two to go, Oribello got her first triple of the day as part of a 5-0 SF State run that made things 84-52. Lamonea closed out the Gator scoring with a jumper right outside the key.
Joining Stephens on the All-Tournament team was Kylie Wallace (Alaska Fairbanks), Sabrina Ungaro (Alaska Fairbanks), Hannah Wandersee (Alaska Anchorage), and Yazmen Goo (Alaska Anchorage - Tournament MVP).
The Gators travel to Fresno, California for their first road contest of the regular season as they battle Fresno Pacific at 6 p.m.
