WBB | Gators Drop Exhibition Contest to Pacific

STOCKTON, Calif. - The San Francisco State women's basketball team fell to host University of the Pacific on Friday night in their first exhibition by a score of 89-41.

First Quarter

 

The Gators saw themselves down 6-0 behind a pair of three pointers by the Tigers. Fleming got the Gators on the board with a three of her own and Corder added a layup to cut it to one. SF State would make it a one-point game on Stephens' layup, which was set up by a Lamonea defensive rebound. Megan Cistulli dropped in a three for the first Gator lead of the night at 14-12, but Pacific quickly answered to regain the lead on a Tylah King three. Pacific closed out the quarter with a pair of Ameela Li free throws for the 19-16 advantage

Second Quarter

Pacific pushed their lead to 14 at 30-16 as they continued their strong performance beyond the arc. Stephens and Mackenzie Oribello added a layups and Taimane Lesa-Hardee made one from the charity stripe as SF State battled back, but the Tigers rolled to a 43-27 lead at the half.

Third Quarter

Lesa-Hardee hit jumper to start the Gator scoring in the third. However the Tigers widened their lead to 56-29 before Edwards hit a free throw. Lamonea dropped in one from deep and Cistulli added a jumper to in the final minute of the frame to add to the Gator scoring.

Fourth Quarter

The Tigers widened the lead to 74-35 before Anaya Sperling hit a pair of free throws from the stripe. Oribello added another free throw and Amani Alexander added to the scoreboard with a jumper, but the powerful Pacific squad maintained the lead for the 89-41 victory.
