Twenty-Four SF State Student-Athletes Earn Fall 2018 CCAA All-Academic Honors

CHICO, California - A total of twenty-four San Francisco State student-athletes were named to their respective 2018 California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic teams for the fall, the CCAA announced today.

The SF State men's soccer team led the way with nine honorees while the women's team followed with seven. Volleyball placed six on the all-academic list and women's cross country added two. The 24 honorees are tied-for-the third-most in the conference, with Cal State East Bay leading the way with 26, Cal State San Marcos placing 25 on the list, and Humboldt State also boasting 24.

A total of 309 men and women student-athletes were recognized from the 13 member institutions. Of the 309 honorees, nearly half are making a repeat appearance with 146 individuals making at least their second Fall All-Academic team, and 73 of maintained a cumulative gpa of at least 3.80 or better. 

The CCAA recognizes individuals academically per season – fall, winter and spring – for all CCAA sponsored sports. In order to earn CCAA All-Academic team honors, a student-athlete must be of sophomore athletic standing or higher, and own a 3.3 cumulative GPA or better while competing in a Conference-sponsored sport in that season.
