COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Four San Francisco State wrestlers have been named to the 2018-19 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Wrestling Honor Roll.
Forty-four total wrestlers were honored. Ten were named to the All-Academic First Team and the remaining 34 were named to the Honor Roll. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters and carry a cumulative 3.30 grade point average (GPA).
Mason Boutain, a 157-lb. redshirt sophomore from Benicia, California makes his second appearance on the Honor Roll. A Nursing major, he has a 3.38 GPA. After missing the early part of the season due to injury, he finished 10-5 and, at one point, won nine consecutive bouts.
Kurtis Clem, who competed at 174 pounds after competing at 149 pounds last season, boasts a 3.64 GPA and is studying Dietetics. The Chico, California native is also making his second appearance on the Honor Roll. Clem finished 14-11 this season.
Angelo Reyes is studying Computer Science and leads the Golden Gators with a 3.70 GPA. The Sunnyvale, California native went 4-5, including a fall to start the season.
Elias Rosales, is studying Nursing and sports a 3.31 GPA. The Bakersfield, California native wrestled at a couple of different weights this season and won four bouts for the Gators this season.
SF State Wrestling will send two individuals —
Jordan Gurrola (133 lb.) and
Justin Pichedwatana (184 lb.) — to the 2019 NCAA Division II Men's Wrestling National Championships in Cleveland.
