CHICO, Calif. — The San Francisco State softball team's win streak was snapped on Friday as the Gators dropped two to the No. 7 Chico State Wildcats, 3-1 and 10-4, in the CCAA opener.
GAME ONE
	- Nina Revoir led the way with a pair of hits and one RBI, her fourth-straight contest with two hits.
- Brylynn Vallejos scored the lone run in game one and continued her strong offensive start to the season with another hit.
- Pitcher Emily Mitchell held the potent Wildcat (3-2/2-0 CCAA) offense to just two earned.
	- Vallejos led off the fourth with a single to right and stole second. Katie Rohrer sacrificed the freshman over to third, and Revoir scored her on a single up the middle for the first rub of the game.
- Chico State, who is the reigning CCAA Champion, quickly tied it up in the bottom half as Amanda Flores singled home Annie Weiss to tie things up 1-1.
- The Wildcats got two more across for a 3-1 lead in the sixth on Flores' RBI single to left and Bailey Akins' double down the left field line to life the hosts in game one.
	- Chico put a runner on third in the first but Mitchell got Claire Wayne looking to end the frame for one of her four strikeouts on the day. The junior would toss six and allow just two earned. The Gators (3-2/0-2 CCAA) tagged Wildcat hurler Brooke Larsen for five hits, which ties the most allowed this season by the sophomore, who earned NFCA All-American status a year ago while playing for the Academy of Art.
GAME TWO
	- SF State didn't commit an error in game two for the first time in the last eight contests.
- Vallejos continued her hitting streak as she added two more hits. The freshman how has a .611 batting average on the year, which is the fourth best in the CCAA.
- Tianna Jacques walked twice and added a hit and a run. Hayley Nunes went 1-for-3 with a run.
	- Michelle Castro led off the contest with a double to left and Vallejos followed suit with a double of her own to left as SF State took an early 1-0 advantage.
- Once again the Wildcats answered, this time on Ari Marsh's double to left to score Kristin Worley, who led off the frame with a walk.
- Wendy Cardinali led off the bottom of the third with a solo shot to left, putting Chico State up 2-1. Three batters later Wayne hit a two-run shot to left that widened the lead to 4-1. The rally continued as Akins doing added another solo home run, this time to right center, off new pitcher Karla Soto.
- The Gators narrowed the deficit in the top of the fourth, when Jacques walked with one down, and advanced to second on Rohrer's groundout. Revoir then knocked a single to left to score Jacques, making it 5-2, and Andrea Hildan reached on an error that scored Revoir.
- Hayley Nunes singled up the middle with one down in the fifth, and Vallejos advanced her to second with two down on a base hit to center. Jacques walked to load the bases, and Rohrer worked a walk that scored Nunes to cut it to one and give the Gators their third run with two outs.
- The hosts rolled away with the sweep as they added five more to take a 10-4 lead late. Worley scored Reilani Peleti with a double and Marsh followed with a two-run single to right. Flores capped off the big inning with a single to right.
	- Natalie Minteer got the start, tossing 2.1 innings with a pair of strikeouts. Soto threw 3.2 in relief with a strikeout and sat the Wildcats down in order in the fifth and sixth.
