CHICO, Calif. — The San Francisco State women's basketball team fell 84-55 at Chico State on Thursday evening.
- The Gators fall to 1-22/1-19 CCAA. With the win, Chico State (15-10/11-8 CCAA) all but secured its ticket to the postseason.
- The Wildcats shot 50 percent (34-of-68) for the game, though the Gators held them to 37.5 percent (6-of-16) in the fourth quarter.
- Muirae Gomez led the Gators with 19 points.
- Taimane Lesa-Hardee scored nine points and dished out three assists.
- Madison Corder scored eight points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds.
- Ashley Hart returned from injury and made her first appearance since January 11. She played 33 minutes off the bench and scored six points in her return.
- All Wildcats who appeared scored, led by Bailey Jones with 11 points.
The Wildcats jumped out to an 11-2 advantage in the first five minutes of action and the Gators never recovered. SF State trailed 21-5 at the end of the first quarter and the deficit grew to 27 by the half, and to as large as 40 in the third quarter. The Gators made a late run and outscored the Wildcats 24-14 in the final quarter.
The Gators return home for their final two games of the season, on Thursday, February 27 versus Cal State Dominguez Hills, and on Saturday, February 29 versus Cal State LA. Both doubleheaders will be streamed on the CCAA Network and live stats will also be available at sfstategators.com.
