COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — San Francisco State wrestlers
Mason Boutain,
Kurtis Clem,
Tony Margiotta, and
Angelo Reyes have been named to the 2019-20 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Wrestling Honor Roll. Boutain and Clem have been named to the list for three consecutive seasons while this is the second honor for Reyes.
Thirty-eight total wrestlers were honored. Ten were named to the All-Academic First Team and the remainder were named to the Honor Roll. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters and carry a cumulative 3.30 grade point average (GPA).
Boutain is currently ranked No. 5 in the nation at 149 pounds and sports a 16-2 overall record. Of his sixteen victories, only one has been a regular decision. He has five pins, five tech falls, four major decisions, and an injury default. A Nursing major, he saw his cumulative GPA rise to 3.40.
Kurtis Clem, who competed at 165 pounds, is studying Dietetics and saw his cumulative GPA raise to 3.65 GPA. The Chico, California native went 1-2 but has been sidelined due to injury since November.
Tony Margiotta started 10 duals for the Gators at 125 pounds. The Walnut Creek, California native has a 3.59 GPA and is currently undeclared.
Angelo Reyes is studying Computer Science and has a 3.42 GPA. The Sunnyvale, California native competed at both 133 pounds and 141 pounds for the Gators and will represent the team at 133 pounds Regionals.
The No. 13 Gators and the rest of the RMAC wrestling programs will compete at the NCAA Super Region VI Championships on Feb. 29 in Nebraska, Kearney. Click
