  • The Gators committed three errors in game two, which resulted in three more unearned runs.
  • In game one, SF State stranded nine and the Wildcats stranded a doxen. In game two, SF State stranded six, though the Wildcats left 11.
GAME ONE

How They Scored

  • Chico State took a 2-0 lead, though the Gators limited the damage by stranding a pair.
  • Control issues in the fourth led to a four-run frame and blew the game open for the Wildcats. A walk, single, and another walk loaded the bases. A fielder's choice and a bases-loaded walk led to runs, and even a double play resulted in a run crossing the plate. Reilani Peleti's two-out RBI double capped off the rally.
  • Further frustrating the fourth inning, SF State loaded the bases with no outs thanks to singles from Brylynn Vallejos, Michelle Castro, and a walk by Katie Rohrer. However, a pair of strikeouts and a fielder's choice left the bases loaded and the Gators off the board.
  • The Gators scored in the fifth. Lehua DeLeon singled and, with one out, Sydney Jenkins and Vallejos both reached on errors to load the bases. Castro singled home a run but the Gators had to settle for one run. Katelyn Sturm struck out on a ball in the dirt, Vallejos was forced out at home on a fielder's choice, and pinch hitter Nina Revoir got a second chance after a dropped foul ball but struck out swinging.
  • Natalie Minteer gave up a pair of walks and hit a batter with a full count. Larsen delivered a two-out single to left field before Minteer got a flyout to avoid further damage.
  • The Wildcats pushed the lead to 10-1 with two more in the seventh thanks to a one-out single and a pair of errors at shortstop.

GAME TWO

How They Scored

  • Emily Mitchell recorded six of her seven strikeouts in the first three innings but she ran into trouble in the fourth. A walk and double put Wildcats on second and third but DeLeon cut down the runner trying to go home on a fielder's choice. Mitchell hit pinch hitter Jordan DiGiacinto to load the bases and Kristin Worley singled home a pair. Karter Williams followed with a bunt that resulted in two more runs.
  • DeLeon and Nina Revoir singled in the seventh and Samantha Alvarez plated a run with a groundout but the Gators ended the game with a pair of runners stranded.
