How it Happened

The Yellowjacks opened up the first quarter with a 11-2 scoring run. A jumper from Hart stopped the bleeding for a bit before the Yellowjackets pushed the lead to 12 points at the end of the first quarter.

Neither team scored for almost two minutes in the second quarter until a jumper from the Yellowjackets gave them a 27-13. Hart made three baskets in a row to put the Gators within eight but Montana Billings pulled away to take a 34-21 lead heading into the locker room.

The Gators clamped down on defense and held the Yellowjackets to 1-for-13 on field goals and seven points in the quarter. A jumper from Taimane Lesa-Hardee cut Montana Billings' lead to five before the Yellowjackets made a pair of free throws to go up 41-34.

The Yellowjackets led by 10 or more points the majority of the fourth quarter. The Gators had issues with fouls throughout the quarter as the Yellowjackets went 8-for-11 from the line.
