Jason Welch and Tony Margiotta will represent the Philippines while Jairo Rivera and Anthony Mancini will represent Puerto Rico.
PONTEVEDRA, Spain — San Francisco State will be well represented at the Under-23 World Championships underway at the Pavillón Municipal dos Deportes de Pontevedra in Ponetevedra, Spain.
Fifth-year senior
Tony Margiotta will be representing the Philippines at 61kg.
Jairo Rivera Vazquez, a redshirt freshman who will make his debut for the Golden Gators this year at 184 pounds, will be representing Puerto Rico at 86kg. Both student-athletes will hit the mat on Saturday and Sunday, Octoer 22-23.
Two members of SF State's coaching staff have also been selected by the foreign national delegations to represent at the tournament. Head Coach
Jason Welch will be coaching with the Filipino delegation while Assistant Coach
Anthony Mancini will be coaching with the Puerto Rican delegation.
